9/5 @ Otto's and beyond

I've added a bunch of gigs to my calendar page. Most notably, I've got a double header on 9/5 playing with my friends in David Aaron's Short Memory and also presenting the SK Threeo. This time around, Sharmaji returns on the drums and Nicholas D'Amato (who I met long ago on the NJ Blues Jam scene) is on the bass. Check out a bit of Nic's solo work here ...

Thank You GP!

"Katzman delivers a beautifully languid acoustic serenade driven by a pulsating tabla groove that sounds quite nice - definitely not like some lame world-beat add-on. This hypnotic, tranquil tune is a perfect soundtrack for backpacking through lush vistas on a sunny weekend, or just reading a book while sitting in the park."
-Michael Molenda, editor-in-chief, Guitar Player magazine

No matter how many people tell me that I've released a relaxing album, I still think 5 is the New 3 is a rock record!

Nosie Katzmann!

I stumbled upon my the German songwriter Nosie Katzmann as part of some web search or another and totally dug his track Mr. Vain. He accepted my Myspace friendship but didn't seem to have much time for Katzman(n) bonding.

I was in the mood to hear the song again - and after a trip to Youtube the story just got 100% more interesting. First dig this:

Where did he get the money for that great video and studio recording? All of the sudden the links along the side of the page indicate that he'd written the 80s megahit which, it turns out, has the same name and lyrics.

Check this out:

Wow. Go Nosie!

Sorry no updates lately

I'd like to think it's because I'm busy playing.

Especially enjoyed this Simpsons moment on tour in Knoxville.
